do you feel the universe colliding?
you look out the window when i’m driving
tell me how you feel tell me how you feel when it feels too real when it feels too real
i feel kinda scared (kinda scared) hold me until we get there
tell me how you feel tell me how you feel when it feels too real when it feels too real
i feel kinda scared (kinda scared) hold me until we get there
do you feel the continent sliding?
you look past the cracks where i’m hiding
tell me how you feel tell me how you feel when it feels too real when it feels too real
i feel kinda scared i feel kinda scared hold me until we get there
tell me how you feel tell me how you feel when it feels too real when it feels too real
i feel kinda scared i feel kinda scared hold me until we get there
tell me how you feel tell me how you feel when it feels too real when it feels too real
i feel kinda scared i feel kinda scared hold me until we get there

take your chance on skipping school
that place is bursting at the seams
you know the rules they’re on the walls
to remind you you’ll never leave
they’re killing all the concepts
and they’re willing to risk it all
they’re killing all the concepts
and they’re willing to risk it all
make your name what it could mean
there’s not a soul who couldn’t change
the things you’ve seen are in the past
but that’s not where they’ll always stay
they’re killing all the concepts
are you willing to risking it all
they’re killing all the concepts
are you willing to risking it all
(reaction action)
there’s nothing we can’t do
if we clench our hands real tight
if we catch on the inside
i’ll try i’ll try i’ll try i’ll so hard to
they’re killing all the concepts
and they’re willing to risk it all
they’re killing all the concepts
are you willing to risking it all

would’ve wrote it down
if i’d known it mattered
would’ve come around
had i known the address
would’ve helped you out
if i knew you weren’t feeling well
if i knew i would blame myself
i won’t tell if you don’t tell
what’s going on?
the screen has cut to static
what’s going wrong?
the machine is automatic
why sing the song?
if it gets lost in the pacific
if you don’t know it’s ballad
a love song for the ages
despite how short they’ll be
where have you been at?
no one has to answer
can you make it back?
to listen to my banter
did you think it’d last?
if we are the only disaster
if something else has to clean up after
i occur when you occur
i’d write it down if it mattered

kodak moment
03:29
|
|||
go back to check my eye line
slow track i let them run on by
so smacked i can only get high
kodak moment to memorize
give me a sign not just the stars that are aligned
i want a document, a signature, a tangible decline
a headache in the morning that can last me through the night
a bone in my back i could hope to call a spine
don't pay if it's a round trip
today i felt my fingertips
no place but a stop to skip
no faith in a film without a script
jump off the cliff, no, that's overdramatic
i'm keeping us stood still and we're turning into static
checking off the list of all of my bad habits
while everybody else recalls that history's been tragic
i'm in love
i'm in love
i'm in love
we're so fucked
it's not that bad if you think so
tick tock we don't have far to go
get off the phone you're alone
pick pocket stole everything you own
so it goes
go home
outgrow

no more parades on main street
cuz no one comes home
no more parades on main street
cuz no one comes home
when we speak it’s silent
when we act it’s all pretend
am i complicit in the violence
if it’s something i can comprehend
i didn’t do what i needed to
i didn’t close the door or open it wide
i didn’t hold you close enough
didn’t hold a gun to the head of the flies
no more parades on main street
they called it a riot
no more parades on main street
they called it a riot
when we speak it’s centered
on anything to make us feel better
nothing feels quite as good
like the feeling that we did what we could
i didn’t do what i needed to
i didn’t throw my body on the line
i didn’t hold you close enough
didn’t a hold a gun to the head of the flies
no more parades on main street
cuz they’re all inside
no more parades on main street
cuz they’re all inside
i didn’t do what i needed to
i didn’t stop living my frivolous life
i didn’t hold you close enough
didn’t hold a gun to the head of the flies

if that's what you want
04:31

you can buy anything in the world that you want, if that's all you've got
you can buy anything in the world that you want, if that's all you've got
you can buy anything in the world that you want, if that's all you've got
you can buy anything in the world that you want, and that's all you've got
everyone stays the same
(but how do i become better?)
like the days when it rains
(i'm so sick of the weather)
everyone stays the same
(how do i become different?)
if they're afraid of change
(if i can't afford it)
i am i am i am i am a fool
you are you are you are you are too
you could buy everything in the world you already have
you could sell it all, you could buy it back
you could trade it in or place your bet
you could waste your time and go into debt
you could break my heart, you could break my heart
you could steal somebody's credit cards
and buy anything you want (i've seen the future and it looks a receipt)
anything you want (i've seen the future and it looks a receipt)
anything you want (i've seen the future and it looks a receipt)
and then you'll have
anything you want
where's our happy ending?
well no one bought the rights

whose fault when the bridge falls down
we were just trying to get to stable ground, like they promised
said we could cross it, someone rewrote the fine print
when we suffer, they profit “just get tougher, grow upwards”
we’ve jumped as high as we can, understand, how could you from comfort
there’s people drowning in the river, i shiver, revelations delivered
look i’ll be bitter until things get better, but until then i’m just watching the weather
how much matter can be compacted until the opposition has reacted
the illusion and confusion not so elusive in collusion, refusing to ask “who built it to break
who put the pillars in the wrong place, the stakes in the wrong game”
name the architect, the marketing exec, they sold us the toll on a road we were forced to go
because we cannot imagine a street without a sign or a box outside the lines
or a life to call to divine
